The Veneto Berico - Euganeo DOP ham and the Olive Oil

The Berico – Euganeo DOP ham and the Euganean Olive Oil,
a travel through the discovery of the gastronomic tradition of Veneto

One of Veneto’s source of pride is: Prosciutto Veneto Berico – Euganeo DOP.
It’s produced since the XIVth century and its taste is described as full, elegant, and delicate taste. When it’s cut the colour is a particular shade of pink, think which derives from attentions it is serious paid during the production process: rules decided in a law extra made for the production of the real Prosciutto Veneto Berico – Euganeo DOP.

With this tour, we’ll know a historic producer of this area and it’ll be the team of the little enterprise (open since 1919) to guide us through the visit of the laboratory of production and we’ll know, step by step, how this delight is produced. We’ll end our visit with a guided tasting of Prosciutto Veneto Berico-Euganeo DOP.

We continue our experiential tour with a visit to an olive oil mill of Euganean Hills. This young olive oil mill, opened in 2008, has already won many (even international) prices and produces particular types of olive oil using also types of olives which grow only in our Euganean Hills, as the Rasara olives.
In the workshop we’ll have the possibility to discover the olive oil production following the wise guide of the producer who will tell us his everyday life and the olive oil production. We’ll end our visit at the olive oil mill with a guided tasting: we’ll learn to distinguish a good olive oil from a bad oil and we’ll learn to recognize the different shades of taste of various kind of olive oil…as a real oil sommelier!
