The Land Of Venice Out Of The Ordinary Tour start with the pick up at the Venice airport and arrival at your 4 * hotel in Abano Terme, the most important thermal destination of Europe. Accommodation in the room and free time to relax. We suggest a little bit of relax at the SPA of the hotel. Take your time and swim in the relaxing and warm thermal water of the pool, give yourself a message.

After breakfast, meet your Local Tour Leader at the hotel and start your full day tour in The Land Of Venice.  The Regional Park of Euganean Hills covers an area of around 19 thousand square hectares of hills of volcanic origin. Forests of age-old oak and chestnut alternate with Mediterranean maquis and wide terraced slopes with fruit trees and grapevines. Ancient hamlets, hermitages, and the refined architecture of the sumptuous Veneto villas narrate centuries of history, art and tradition.

The first POI is the walled town of Monselice and a visit to his medieval castle, a real treasure chest where ancient weapons, beautiful tapestries and marvellous furniture from all Italy are preserved. Have a walk up Via del Santuario, which is called the most beautiful panoramic promenade in the Venetian Region which, with its Villas and the seven Churches (who remind the seven Churches of Rome), is a unique beauty. Panoramic points from which admire the city will not lack and you will have the possibility to admire the walled city.

Later you’ll move to Arquà Petrarca, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy, grown at foot of Mount Piccolo and Mount Ventolone. Francesco Petrarca, one of the most famous Italian poets, made Arquà Petrarca his home. In this marvellous medieval village, you’ll visit Petrarch’s house and it’ll be motioning to look outside the windows of the house: we’ll be amazed by the beauty and sinuosity of the Euganean Hills, by which the poet was inspired at that époque. We can say his house is a pearl surrounded by this pretty medieval village, where the time seems to have stopped. Inside the rooms, you’ll admire the frescos of the XVth century and one of the successive owner, who all tried not to modify the house in order to keep the house as Petrarch it leaved.

Arquà has been through the time a cradle of strong food and wine tradition. So you’ll discover it with, first, a visit in a well-known olive oil mill, where the oil producer will explain us his every day work and the process of production of olive oil. In the end, you’ll finish this visit with a guided tasting of olive oil of the Euganean Hills. You’ll continue your experiential tour with the visit of the little enterprise of a producer of venetian delights: here you’ll have a tasting of liqueurs, the famous Brodo di Giuggiole accompanied by the wise tale of the owner and producer.

It’s time to have lunch. You’ll visit a renowned wineries of the Euganean territory, to discover the best wine production in the area. Here the particular volcanic origin of the soil and the good climate allows the cultivation of various vines. Among the white wines: the Serprino, biotype of the Glera vine, is the “volcanic” version of Prosecco; the Pinot bianco; the Garganega, the Chardonnay and Manzoni. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmènere have found space among the reds. Between a walk through the vineyards, a visit to the cellar and several wine tastings paired with typical local products for lunch, you will listen to the wise tale of the winemaker about the expressions of his best wines.

Thrid day of the The Land Of Venice Out Of The Ordinary tour. After breakfast at your hotel, meet your tour leader and take your private minivan transfer and arrive to Cittadella, one of the most beautiful walled cities in Veneto and the only one which still has the ramparts wall preserved and walkable. Cittadella has roman origins: Romans built this city in the III century along the Via Postumia, important connection between Aquileia and Genoa threw all Northern Italy.

Then, between the XII and the XIII century, when the city of Padua started to extend its borders and started to conflict with Treviso and Vicenza, the governors of Padua decided to fortify Cittadella with a huge and thick wall. The walls of Cittadella are average 2,1 meters thick and have four gates: Porta Padovana, Porta Bassanese, Porta Trevisana and Porta Vicentina to get into the city, in the direction of the four cardinal points.

You’ll have a walk along the ramparts and you’ll admire the view of the city from above, as the soldier in the Middle Ages did.

The old town centre, with its famous square , its castles, and its still intact surrounding walls that can now be reached through the chemin de rondes, is reminiscent of other great Veneto cities. Inside the walls there are picturesque areas, such as the Scalinata Carmini, via Rialto, via Calesello, via Sant’Antonio and the charming promenade leading to the Castello Superiore (Upper Castle).Tha Castle square is a large open space delimited by the Castello Inferiore (Lower Castle) to the south, the Palace of Doglione to the north and other palaces and porticoes to the sides. The large, slightly raised stone platform containing a big chessboard in the centre, reate a beautiful setting for the famous Living Chess Game that takes place in the second week of September every even year.

After lunch (not included) you’ll move to Bassano del Grappa and you’ll start the city tour from the bridge: the “Ponte Vecchio” or old bridge, crossing river Brenta is the town’s main attraction and center of the old town. The bridge has been redesigned and fixed multiple times throughout history from its first appearance in the 13th century. The current structure of the old bridge in Bassano carries the signature of visionary renaissance designer Andrea Palladio and is made entirely of wood. It is renewed as an engineering masterpiece hard to replicate even with today’s technology. Every visit to Bassano del Grappa usually starts with a promenade through the Ponte Vecchio, where you can stop to take pictures at the breathtaking panorama on the mountains or to shop for craft products in the nearby shops. At the eastern end of the bridge, locals gather for happy hour at Nardini, Italy’s oldest distillery dating back to 1779 and still serving drinks in the retro atmosphere of the original laboratory. Here you are supposed to order a round of “mezzo e mezzo” which is the bitter house specialty, or an “acqua di Cedro” or cider water, besides the extensive spirits options. A few steps ahead, Nardini’s competitor Poli has its free entry Grappa Museum where you can smell and test virtually unlimited Grappa kinds.

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your tour leader and take your private minivan transfer and start you full day tour in The Land Of Venice.
The Brenta Riviera, a well-known waterway between Padua and Venice, is a panoramic area interesting from a historical, natural, artistical and cultural point of view. It is a natural extension of Canal Grande and is punctuated, all along the banks of the Naviglio (the artificial canal which crosses it), by picturesque venetian villages and surrounded by an agricultural landscape. The Brenta Riviera has fascinated many important personalities through all times: Casanova, Galileo Galilei, Byron, Montesquieu, and D’Annunzio visited it, Canaletto, Cimaroli and Tiepolo painted it, and it was praised in Goldoni’s and Goethe’s masterpieces. The French and Russian royal families, the Hapsburg and the Savoys and even Napoleone stayed here and the venetian nobility chose it as scenery for their Venetian Villas. They built here magnificent residences, enclosed by monumental gardens, frescoed, and designed by the most important artists of that epoch such as Palladio, Scamozzi, Tiziano and Tintoretto.

Your first stop will be at the magnificent Villa Pisani commissioned by the Pisani di Santo Stefano family, an important branch of the ancient patrician Pisani family of Venice. The tour of the villa allows to visit the whole piano nobile containing almost thirty rooms with frescoes, paintings and original furniture, an unique case for a historic mansion. The life in the villa, described by the Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni as a place of “great fun, served meals, dance and shows”, was painted in a large number of eighteenth century rooms. The Villa Pisani Garden was awarded “The Most Beautiful Gardens in Italy” prize in 2008 and it covers a whole bend of the Brenta river, an area of 11 hectares and a perimeter of about 1500 metres.

The garden is arranged with long perspectives following the French model used by André Le Nôtre at Versailles and the traditional fenced garden of Veneto, open through portals and windows which extend the sight on the Brenta river.

It’s time for lunch. You’ll stop in Dolo where, in the 16th century, a mill was built, the Molino di Dolo, above the Canale di Brenta. In the adjacent restaurant you will have your lunch directly above the canal.

Your second stop, will be at Villa Widmann Rezzonico Foscari. Built in the early 18th century for the Serimann, Venetian noble family, of Persian origin, the Villa was given its current form in the middle of the same century, when the Widmann family purchased it and modernised it, adapting it to French Rococo taste. In this way, the main building became a welcoming home suitable for parties and receptions.
