Tour to Chioggia

Everyone knows Venice. Chioggia is a different story. Located at the southern end of the Venetian Lagoon, this historic fishing town offers a more authentic and laid-back side of lagoon life. Its waterways, colorful buildings and fishing boats create an atmosphere that feels distinctly Venetian—but far removed from the crowds of Venice.

On this half-day experience, you’ll explore Chioggia’s historic center on foot, discover its local traditions and then board a boat to experience the lagoon from the water.

Traveling from Abano Terme, Montegrotto Terme or Padua, we’ll pick you up directly at your hotel. If you’re staying in Venice, we’ll arrange your train journey to the nearest station and continue by minivan.

Chioggia is often called “Little Venice,” but comparing it to a smaller version of Venice doesn’t really do it justice. Chioggia has its own identity, shaped by its centuries-old relationship with the sea.

Fishing boats come and go from the marinas, waterways run through the historic center and local life still follows the rhythm of the lagoon. This is the side of Chioggia we want you to discover: not simply a collection of historic sights, but a living town with its own traditions, people and unmistakable character.

We’ll begin with a relaxed walk through the historic center of Chioggia, exploring its canals, bridges, squares and characteristic corners while discovering the traditions and everyday life of this authentic lagoon town.

Then we’ll change perspective and board a boat to explore the Venetian Lagoon from the water. We’ll cruise through waterways, along the marinas and across the lagoon, taking in the landscape and discovering the deep connection between Chioggia, the sea and its fishing heritage.

It’s a simple but memorable way to experience Chioggia: first on foot, then from the water.

🏨 From Abano and Montegrotto Terme. Staying at the Spas? We’ll take care of the transportation. We’ll pick you up directly at your hotel in our minivan. At the end of the tour, we’ll take you back to your hotel. No need to worry about cars, parking, or logistics—just enjoy the tour.

📍 From Padua. Staying in Padua? We’ll take care of the transportation. We’ll pick you up directly at your hotel or B&B with our minivan, or at the nearest spot outside the restricted traffic zone (ZTL). At the end of the tour, we’ll take you back to your hotel. No cars, no parking, and no planning—just enjoy the tour.

Here are the steps for booking:

• From the box on the right side of the page, select the number of participants using the (+) button.
• From the calendar, select your desired date. Available dates are green.
• Select the time*:
  For departures from Abano Terme and Montegrotto, select: 9:00 a.m. or 13:30 p.m.
  For the meeting point in Padua, select: 9:30 or 1:30 PM.
• Once you’ve selected the time, click “Add to Cart” and then “Go to Cart.”
• Enter your information and proceed to checkout.

• How long does the tour last? From Padua, Abano, and Montegrotto, the tour lasts about 5 hours.
• Is transportation included? Yes. From Padua, Abano, and Montegrotto, pickup and drop-off at your hotel are included.
• Is the boat ride included in the price? Yes, it is.
• Does the tour still take place if it rains? Yes, the tour takes place even in the rain. In case of bad weather, the boat ride is replaced with an aperitif featuring traditional cicchetti.

EXPLANATIONS DURING TOURS: Only a licensed tour guide may provide explanations about the city, monuments, and museums. The tour escort, on the other hand, provides assistance and accompanies you to the most beautiful spots in the location chosen for your tour. TRANSFER SERVICE: The customer transfer service, when requested and if operated using the Agency’s own vehicles, is provided as a courtesy and is limited to the operational needs of conducting the tour. For packages that include train tickets: In the event of a public transportation strike, please contact us for alternative solutions or to cancel. If no alternatives are available, we will cancel the tour and issue a refund in advance. The cost of any train tickets already purchased will be retained and will not be refunded. WEATHER: The tour will take place even in bad weather unless the agency decides otherwise to ensure your safety. LANGUAGES SPOKEN DURING TOURS: Tours may be conducted in two languages simultaneously. ADHERENCE TO SCHEDULES AND GROUPS: By confirming your tour reservation, you accept the times indicated in the itinerary; to ensure the tour runs smoothly, it will not be possible to change the schedule unless the tour leader decides otherwise.
