During this tour we will discover the life of Countess Evelina van Milligen, wife of the last of the Pisani family, owner of the Villa del Doge at Vescovana in the Padovan area.
Countess Pisani was born in Constantinople in 1830 but was educated in Rome, was English and named Evelina van Milligen, and married the last of the Pisani family who owned the Villa del Doge in Vescovana in the Padovan area. In the summer of 1888, she stayed for a long time at the Villa Pisani in Vescovana, which we will visit, to take care of her husband’s property, set in the boundless countryside of Gromboolia, the Bassa Padovana.
We will initially take you to the villa, now called Villa Pisani Bolognesi Scalabrin in Vescovana.
The villa and its garden offer to their visitors a unique experience between late March and early April, when tulips bloom and decorate the garden of the villa with marvellous colours. An event, Giardinity, has been created to admire the blossoming, and is avaliable every Saturday and Sunday from March 21 through April 25.
Next, we will move to the Euganean Hills, home of the Francesco Petrarca and Euganean Hills Literary Park®, where we will see Arquà Petrarca and Monte Venda, which the Countess visited. The tour will be accompanied by readings from “La Contessa Pisani” by Margaret Symonds.

WEATHER: The tour takes place even in case of bad weather. If the tour is cancelled it is to protect your safety. The tours to Venice take place even in case of high water.
