Just north of Verona, the rolling hills of Valpolicella are one of the Veneto region’s most important wine-producing areas. This is the land of Amarone della Valpolicella, a rich and distinctive Italian red wine made using a traditional grape-drying process known as appassimento. The grapes are partially dried before fermentation, concentrating their flavors and giving Amarone its characteristic depth, structure and complexity.

On this experience, you won’t simply taste the wines. You’ll discover where they come from, how they are made and why the landscape of Valpolicella is so important to the wines in your glass.

We’ll head into the hills of Valpolicella and visit two local wineries, each offering a different perspective on the region and its wines. At each winery, you’ll meet local producers and learn about the vineyards, the winemaking process and the traditions that have shaped Valpolicella for generations. Of course, there will be plenty of time to taste.

During the guided tastings, you’ll sample a selection of Valpolicella wines, including Amarone, and learn how to recognize the different aromas, flavors and characteristics in your glass. The wine is paired with local specialties from Valpolicella, turning the tastings into a relaxed food-and-wine experience rather than a formal wine class.

There’s no need to be a wine expert. Your local hosts will explain everything in an approachable way, so you can simply enjoy the wines, the food and the atmosphere.

📍 From Padua. Staying in Padua? We’ll take care of the transportation. We’ll pick you up directly at your hotel or B&B with our minivan, or at the nearest spot outside the restricted traffic zone (ZTL). At the end of the tour, we’ll take you back to your hotel. No cars, no parking, and no planning—just enjoy the tour.

• How long does the tour last? From Padua, Abano, and Montegrotto, the tour lasts about 7 hours.
• Is transportation included? Yes. Round-trip transportation by minivan is included for departures from Padua, Abano Terme, and Montegrotto Terme.
• What do the tastings include? We’ll have two tastings. The first will feature at least 4 wines paired with local cold cuts and cheeses, serving as a light lunch; the second is a simple tasting accompanied by breadsticks. The tastings include some of Valpolicella’s most iconic wines, including Amarone. The selection may vary depending on the wineries visited and the producers’ availability.
• Is this experience suitable for those who aren’t wine experts? Yes. No specific knowledge is required. During the visit and tasting, the producers will explain the region, the winemaking process, and the characteristics of the wines being tasted in simple terms. The experience is also designed for those new to the world of food and wine who want to discover the flavors of Valpolicella. What makes the tour even more enjoyable is the convivial time spent with our guides and the other participants in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
• Is this experience suitable even for those who aren’t wine experts? Yes. No specific knowledge is required. During the tour and tasting, the producers explain in simple terms the local area, wine and olive oil production, and the characteristics of the products being tasted. The experience is also designed for those who are new to the world of food and wine and want to discover the flavors of the Euganean Hills without getting bogged down in technical details. What makes the tour even more enjoyable is the convivial time spent with our guides and the other participants, in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
• Will the tour still take place if it rains? Yes, the experience goes ahead even in the rain. In case of bad weather, the walk through the vineyards may be modified or shortened depending on the conditions, but all tours and tastings take place as scheduled indoors.

The tour escort, on the other hand, provides assistance and accompanies you to the most beautiful spots in the location chosen for your tour. TRANSFER SERVICE: The customer transfer service, when requested and if operated using the Agency’s own vehicles, is provided as a courtesy and is limited to the operational needs of conducting the tour. For packages that include train tickets: In the event of a public transportation strike, please contact us for alternative solutions or to cancel. If no alternatives are available, we will cancel the tour and issue a refund in advance. The cost of any train tickets already purchased will be retained and will not be refunded.
