Head into the Euganean Hills, a beautiful volcanic landscape just a short drive from Padua, where vineyards and olive groves cover the rolling hills of the Veneto countryside. This is a side of Italy that many visitors never get to see. Instead of simply tasting local products, you’ll meet the people who make them. You’ll visit a traditional olive oil mill, meet its young owners and discover how extra virgin olive oil is produced. Then you’ll continue to a family-run winery, walk among the vineyards, visit the cellar and enjoy a tasting of local wines paired with regional cheeses. It’s a relaxed, authentic way to experience the food, wine and countryside of Veneto.

Your experience begins at a local olive oil mill, where the owners will introduce you to the world of extra virgin olive oil. You’ll learn how olives are harvested and transformed into extra virgin olive oil, discover what makes local olive oil unique and, of course, taste it for yourself.

Then it’s time to follow the road through the Euganean Hills to a family-run winery. Here, you’ll walk through the vineyards and visit the wine cellar before sitting down for a guided tasting of five local wines. Your hosts will explain the wines, the local grape varieties and the unique characteristics of the Euganean Hills, making the tasting enjoyable whether you’re a wine enthusiast or simply curious to learn more.

This is not a typical stop-at-a-winery-and-taste experience. You’ll get to see where the products come from, meet the people who make them and understand how the landscape influences what ends up in your glass and on your table.

🏨 From Abano and Montegrotto Terme. Staying at the Spas? We’ll take care of the transportation. We’ll pick you up directly at your hotel in our minivan. At the end of the tour, we’ll take you back to your hotel. No need to worry about cars, parking, or logistics—just enjoy the tour.

📍 From Padua. Staying in Padua? We’ll take care of the transportation. We’ll pick you up directly at your hotel or B&B with our minivan, or at the nearest spot outside the restricted traffic zone (ZTL). At the end of the tour, we’ll take you back to your hotel. No cars, no parking, and no planning—just enjoy the tour.

🚆 From Venice. Staying in Venice? Join us by train. We’ll arrange your train trip from Venice to Terme Euganee station, and we’ll meet you there. At the end of the excursion, we’ll take you back to the station to catch your return train. You don’t have to worry about logistics—we’ll handle all the arrangements, and train tickets are included. Just make sure to provide us with a valid phone number with WhatsApp enabled for necessary communications!

🗺️ “Self-Guided” Option: This experience does not include transportation or a guide. It’s ideal if you have a car and want to get around on your own. After booking, we’ll send you the itinerary for your experience, including the addresses of the olive oil mill and winery.

  For departures from Abano Terme and Montegrotto, select: 9:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
  For the meeting point in Padua, select: 9:00 or 1:45 PM.
  For departures from Venice, select: 8:40 AM or 1:40 PM.

• How long does the tour last? From Padua, Abano, and Montegrotto, the tour lasts about 5 hours. From Venice, it lasts about 7–8 hours, including train travel.
• Are the tastings already included in the price? Yes, all tastings are included in the price.
• Will I be able to buy souvenirs? We’re in no rush. If you’d like, you can purchase olive oil and wine directly from the producers.
• What do the tastings include? The experience includes a visit to an olive oil mill with a tasting of several varieties of extra virgin olive oil and a visit to a winery in the Euganean Hills, with a tasting of five wines accompanied by breadsticks and other baked goods. The Euganean Hills produce various types of wine, including Serprino, Pinot Bianco, Garganega, Chardonnay, Manzoni Bianco, Colli Euganei Rosso DOC, Merlot, Cabernet, and Cabernet Franc, as well as Carménère and, in some cases, Raboso. The selection tasted varies depending on the winery visited.
• Is transportation included? Yes. From Padua, Abano, and Montegrotto, pickup and drop-off at your hotel are included. From Venice, train tickets and subsequent transfers by minivan are included.
• Does the tour still take place if it rains? Yes, the tour goes ahead even in the rain. The tour is a wonderful experience in every season, including winter or particularly rainy periods. In case of bad weather, the walk through the vineyards may be modified or shortened depending on conditions, but all visits and tastings take place as scheduled.
• Is this experience suitable even for those who aren’t wine experts? Yes. No specific knowledge is required. During the tour and tasting, the producers explain in simple terms the local area, wine and olive oil production, and the characteristics of the products being tasted. The experience is also designed for those who are new to the world of food and wine and want to discover the flavors of the Euganean Hills without getting bogged down in technical details. What makes the tour even more enjoyable is the convivial time spent with our guides and the other participants, in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
• What are the cancellation fees? Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the tour begins.

EXPLANATIONS DURING TOURS: Only a licensed tour guide may provide explanations about the city, monuments, and museums. The tour escort, on the other hand, provides assistance and accompanies you to the most beautiful spots in the location chosen for your tour. TRANSFER SERVICE: The customer transfer service, when requested and if operated using the Agency’s own vehicles, is provided as a courtesy and is limited to the operational needs of conducting the tour. For packages that include train tickets: In the event of a public transportation strike, please contact us for alternative solutions or to cancel. If no alternatives are available, we will cancel the tour and issue a refund in advance. The cost of any train tickets already purchased will be retained and will not be refunded.
