A day to discover Bassano del Grappa, a pretty medieval town located in the Vicenza area. Set in a unique setting, a territory of excellent products such as Grappa and DOP white asparagus.
Bassano del Grappa is a real gem that will amaze you: the tour begins towards Ponte Vecchio, or the Ponte degli Alpini, the historic symbol of the city, of vital economic and military importance, it was often destroyed by wars and floods of the Brenta and always rebuilt, in stone or in wood. In the 16th century the famous Venetian architect Andrea Palladio was commissioned with yet another reconstruction.
Continue to the Poli Grappa Museum, where you will learn about the history of Italy’s most famous distillate: grappa. You will learn about its origins, how it was produced in the past and how it is produced today from marc (grape skins) and enjoy a guided grappa tasting.
After leaving the museum you will continue slightly uphill and admire ancient buildings, the remains of the ancient city walls, the Castle of the Ezzelini, Palazzo Pretorio, Piazza Garibaldi dominated by the Civic Tower that dominates the entire historic centre, Palazzo Sturm with its splendid collections dedicated to local ceramic production, known for the fineness of the mixture, the richness of the decoration and the brilliance of the glaze.
An obligatory stop will be a visit to a historic distillery where you will learn about the history of the most famous Italian spirit: grappa. You will discover its origins, how it was once produced and how this distillate of pomace (the grape skins) is produced today and you will treat yourself to a guided tasting of grappa.

WEATHER: The tour takes place even in case of bad weather. If the tour is cancelled it is to protect your safety. The tours to Venice take place even in case of high water.

RESPECT FOR TIMETABLES AND GROUPS: With the confirmation of the tour, you accept the timetable indicated in the program. In order to have an above-board tour, it will not be possible to change the timetable except it is a decision of the tour leader.
