The walled town Monselice

We will discover the walled town Monselice, on foot of Euganean Hills. Within its walls is a historic centre where time seems to stand still, marked only by the great clock tower. Firtsly we will visit the imposing medieval castle and secondly we will discover the most beautiful walk in the Veneto: the Sette Chiesette (Seven Churches) Jubilee Path. 

By this experience we will discover the walled town Monselice.

First we visit the Cini Castle, the completely furnished medieval castle of the town. A real “treasure chest” with ancient weapons, coffers, fine tapestries and splendid period furnishings from all over Italy. Step by step, you will listen the history of this fascinating place, discover how its ancient inhabitants lived and enjoy unexpected views of enchanting gardens. The Carraresi, the Scaligeri, the Visconti, the Este, are only some of the famous Seigniories that contended the Castle’s possession, whose spirits still seem to hunt in the rooms of the ancient manor.

After that, the journey in the walled town Monselice continues by walking up Colle della Rocca, along what has been described as the most beautiful promenade in the Veneto region, via del Santuario, with its famous Seven Churches. Reminiscent of the Seven Basilicas of Rome, this walk is the only one who has the same meaning of the pilgrimage of Rome and is an unknown and curios destination for devotees from all over Europe.

In conclusion we reach the top of the walk we’ll enjoy Villa Duodo, the Church of Saint George and last but not least the great panorama of the walled town Monselice from the top.

• From Terme Euganee: includes to-and-from transportation by car/minivan and pick-up from your hotel in Abano Montegrotto Terme. You will meet your guide on board. Duration about 4 hours, including travelling times. 
• From Padua: includes to-and-from transportation by car/minivan and pick-up from your hotel in Padua city. You will meet your guide on board. Duration approx. 5 hours, including travelling times.
• From Venice: includes return ticket from Venice to Terme Euganee and pick-up by car/minivan from the Terme Euganee train station. The train journey is independent, with no accompaniment. You will find your guide in Terme Euganee on board the minivan.  Duration about 5,5 hours, including travelling times. 

Guaranteed departure with a minimum of 4 paying adults.

EXPLANATIONS DURING THE TOUR: only touristic guides can and are allowed to explain the monuments, the city and the museums. Accompaniers just help you in case you need it or take you to the most beautiful places chosen for your tour.

OPENING TIMES OF THE MONUMENTS: Some monuments are not always open. If you are interested in visiting a special monument, tell us in the moment of request of quotation. In case you don’t asked us, the agency cannot be retained as responsible.

TRANSFER SERVICES: The transfer service for the client, if done with the Minivan of the agency, is included as a transfer service for free and carried out for courtesy only in order to full fill the necessities of the tour. 

WEATHER: The tour takes place even in case of bad weather. If the tour is cancelled it is to protect your safety. The tours to Venice take place even in case of high water.

LANGUAGES SPOKEN DURING THE TOURS: Tours could be held in multiple languages at the same time.

RESPECT FOR TIMETABLES AND GROUPS: With the confirmation of the tour, you accept the timetable indicated in the program. In order to have an above-board tour, it will not be possible to change the timetable except it is a decision of the tour leader.
